Respiratory rehabilitation

Respiratory Rehabilitation represents a multidisciplinary approach to the patient with chronic respiratory disease that aims to reduce the impact of the disease and consequent disability on daily life. Pivotal to the intervention is the taking charge of the patient by different professional figures (physician, physiotherapist, nurse, psychologist, nutritionist…) who, working as a team and formulating personalized programs, are able to address the different aspects of respiratory dysfunction in order to improve both lung function and patient autonomy. The main diseases that can benefit from Respiratory Rehabilitation are COPD, bronchiectasis, bronchial asthma, pulmonary fibrosis, respiratory failure, and thoracic surgery outcomes.

Neuromotor rehabilitation

It aims to promote the recovery of the best quality of life by treating aspects of motor or cognitive-behavioral disabilities, including in day hospital.
The rehabilitation team, composed of physicians (physiatrists, neurologists and orthopedists) psychologists and neuropsychologists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, dieticians and nurses works in a multidisciplinary way in synergy with the family and social facilities in the area, implementing a personalized therapeutic project.
Patients access from acute medical or surgical wards or through scheduled hospitalization because they have the sequelae of neurological damage.

The technology available for motor reeducation includes robotic equipment, virtual reality (Lokomat, Erigo, Hunova, Armeo, Gait-analysis ) and therapeutic tub.

Cardiovascular rehabilitation

The rehabilitation programs implemented aim to improve exercise tolerance and promote the patient’s mental and physical well-being, better manage cardiac compensation, and improve the cardiovascular profile with the control of risk factors, benefiting quality of life. Special attention is paid to the prevention of post-event-acute depression in young patients.
Patients access following recent cardiac surgery, acute myocardial infarction, and coronary angioplasty, coming directly from acute care facilities; exacerbated patients may also access
Physicians specializing in cardiology, pulmonology, diabetology, geriatrics, physical therapists, psychologists and dietitians are involved for the therapeutic and physiotherapeutic pathway.
