MULTIMEDICA JOINS CVRISK-IT: ITALY’S LARGEST CARDIOVASCULAR PREVENTION STUDY
MultiMedica is actively participating in CVRISK-IT, Italy’s most extensive national study on cardiovascular disease prevention. Officially launched in January 2025, the project is coordinated by the IRCCS Cardiological Network and funded by the Ministry of Health. It encompasses 17 IRCCS institutions and approximately 30 healthcare facilities across the country, including MultiMedica in Milan.
The study targets 30,000 healthy individuals aged between 40 and 80, without prior diagnoses of cardiovascular disease or type 2 diabetes. Participants undergo comprehensive evaluations to assess their cardiovascular health and estimate the risk of developing related conditions over the next decade.
Employing an “Hub & Spoke” model, CVRISK-IT ensures widespread accessibility and equitable participation. This approach aims to create the largest national biobank dedicated to cardiovascular research, facilitating the development of advanced diagnostic tools and effective prevention strategies.
Why this matters for medical tourists:
-
Comprehensive screenings: Participants receive thorough cardiovascular assessments, including genetic and imaging analyses.
-
Personalized prevention: Based on individual risk profiles, tailored lifestyle recommendations are provided.
