PROSTATE CANCER TREATMENT: BOLLINO AZZURRO ACCREDITATION AWARDED TO HUMANITAS RESEARCH HOSPITAL
Fondazione Onda ETS has awarded the IRCCS Istituto Clinico Humanitas in Rozzano with the Bollino Azzurro, a recognition granted to hospitals that ensure a professional and interdisciplinary approach to diagnostic and therapeutic pathways for individuals with prostate cancer and post-surgical functional complications.
In this second edition of the initiative, Fondazione Onda ETS, the National Observatory on Women’s and Gender Health, has conferred the Bollino Azzurro to 156 hospitals across Italy.
In particular, the awarded centers—originating from the network of hospitals with the Bollino Rosa, of which our facility is also a part—have demonstrated excellence in the “provision of prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation services in the uro-andrological field, adopting a multidisciplinary approach with a focus on prostate cancer and post-surgical functional complications.”
A Network for Sharing Experiences and Best Practices
The purpose of the Bollino Azzurro award is to “enhance accessibility to services provided by the centers, strengthen the level of therapeutic and diagnostic offerings, improve the quality of life for individuals with prostate cancer, and promote greater awareness among the male population about the centers that can ensure the best patient care.”
A heartfelt thanks goes to all the professionals of the Urology Unit, led by Dr. Paolo Casale, who, on the occasion of this recognition, stated: “We are extremely proud to see our clinical excellence in the prevention, early diagnosis, and innovative therapies for major urological neoplasms (prostate, bladder, and kidney) recognized. This achievement is the result of the dedication and commitment of our entire medical, nursing, and administrative staff. This success has also been made possible through collaboration with the School of Urology at Humanitas University, directed by Professor Buffi in cooperation with Professor Lughezzani, and through significant clinical research coordinated by Dr. Lazzeri.”
